Contract Counsel
We’re looking for a highly organized person to serve on our Legal Team as in-house Contracts Counsel. This position is remote virtually supporting our teams throughout North America with various aspects of our contracts-review process. The ideal candidate will have 1-4 years of in-house experience with a focus on customer contracts.
Responsibilities
Review, interpret, draft, revise and negotiate terms in customer and vendor contracts
Revise update and maintain the master service, non-disclosure, and other standard form agreements
Provide guidance to business team members on contract issues
Focal point for all communication with legal, finance and business team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputes
Provide support to the company’s sales team, in coordination with the legal, finance and sales support teams
Maintain database of review requests and signed agreements
Other Legal projects as assigned
Skills
Ability to draft and negotiate legal terms in moderate to complex contractual instruments
Good presentation, leadership and team-building skills
Ability to provide quality work under tight deadlines
Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues
Strong to excellent analytical and communication skills
Excellent internal and external negotiation skills
Ability to understand, identify and explain contractual risk
Strong oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills; and ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Highly organized and attention to detail; able to multi-task a large number of complex issues
Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Qualifications
J.D. required
Strong interpersonal skills
Business oriented, with the ability to identify acceptable risks
Ability to establish oneself as a “trusted expert” among colleagues
Desire and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Self-motivated and efficient, with good business judgment and analytical skills
Familiarity with intellectual property law, data privacy, and employment is helpful
Experience with professional services, staffing, software, technology preferred
Experience with contract review and negotiation in support of sales, as a member of a corporate Legal or Contracts Department is preferred
